In Kerala, the elephants are made to stand for 

nearly eight hours at a stretch in temple festivals

 in hot sun and transported in lorries from one festival

 place to another during the seasons. 

"This reduces the lifespan of captive elephants. 

Elephant owners are exploiting this animal maximum

 for their personal gains. An urgent intervention 

of centre is need to save the

 life these animals
